The Story Behind Bear’s Period Boxes

 

When Amber—known as Bear to her friends and family—saw her mum dealing with period pain and headaches, she didn’t hesitate, she’d bring a warm pack, a favourite snack, and something comforting to drink. Even though Bear was still a year or two away from getting her own period, she already knew what it was—and more importantly, she understood the emotions that could come with it.

One day, Bear and her mum sat down and talked. They agreed that periods don’t have to be scary. They’re a natural part of growing up, even though everything can feel suddenly new and uncertain as your teenage body starts to change.

So together, they came up with an idea:
✨ A box series that includes all the essentials to take the anxiety out of periods and turn the transition into womanhood into something gentler, kinder, and even a little exciting.

Bear’s mum knew that small acts of care go a long way. So she created something simple but powerful: personal boxes filled with the things that help—essentials, feel good treats and a note reminding Bear that this change is natural and nothing to be afraid of.

That moment sparked something bigger.

And that’s how BEAR essential was born.

 

Each box is beautifully curated for girls starting their period. It’s filled with care and courage: period products her mom wished she had growing up, hygiene products, small comforts and calming treats, a few extra feel good things, sweet surprises, soothing products, and a handwritten note from Bear herself—because every girl deserves to feel seen, supported, and strong.

 

Bear chose purple for the brand—not just because it’s her favourite colour, but because purple stands for strength, dignity, and transformation.
